Few artists have disregarded genre and musically shifted as often as Son Lux’s Ryan Lott. A New York-based classically trained musician, Lott’s musical endeavors have crossed paths with everyone from Arcade Fire’s Richard Perry to Beyoncé producer Boots to Sufjan Stevens and indie queen Lorde (just to name a few). But even with all of those collaborations, Son Lux has largely remained a solo project. That has all changed with Son Lux’s most recent release, ‘Bones.’

Bones is Son Lux’s fourth full length sample, and this symphonic pop masterpiece finds Lott enlisting the help of guitarist Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang in order to push beyond anything Lott has released in the past and add new dynamic characteristics. The lead single off of the release, titled “Change is Everything”, can be listened to below:

“You Don’t Know Me” is the latest single from ‘Bones’, and Son Lux just dropped a new video for the song. The eerie video features Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany, who plays an impassive wife (and cult-leader?) opposite Looper actor Noah Segan, who plays her blissfully unaware husband. Haunting, edgy, raw, and just a little bit creepy — it offers a very fitting backdrop for Son Lux’s industrial pop sound. The video’s director, Nathan Johnson, said in a press release: “[Tatiana]’s such a phenomenal actor, and she brings something so compelling to the role – this powerful figure who is stuck in the vacancy of routines that have lost their meaning.” Check out the video here:

The group has a big year of touring ahead of them. They are currently on tour throughout North America, and will then be heading off to Europe in August for the rest of the year. Tour dates and tickets can be found on their Facebook page (link below):
