Broods are one of the most buzzed-about new acts of 2015. The brother-sister duo is comprised of lead vocalist Georgia Nott and Caleb Nott on production. The New Zealand-born indie-poppers began their ascend into the spotlight at the beginning of last year with the release of their first single, “Bridges.” It went to number 8 on the New Zealand single chart, and garnered the band some attention from music blogs around the globe. They released their debut EP about a month after, followed by their first full-length studio album, ‘Evergreen’, in August 2014 where it debuted at number one in New Zealand.
Since then, the band has gone on to tour with indie chicks Haim, synthpop powerhouse Ellie Goulding, and British soulster Sam Smith, in addition to their own headline dates. The buzz-worthy duo just wrapped up a North American tour this past spring, and currently has some upcoming dates with Passion Pit after they finish their slew of performances at festivals like Osheaga and Outside Lands.
Broods are still touring their debut effort, and recently released the latest single from the album, “Four Walls”, which they performed on Conan in the spring. The duo hasn’t said much about their follow-up to ‘Evergreen’, but in an interview with an Australian music magazine – Cyclone in April, Caleb commented: “I think there’s gonna be a little more of real instrumentation on it, so a little bit more of playing and stuff, rather than just programming things on the computer – so it’ll have maybe a little bit more of an organic feel to it, but still Broods-vibing. I don’t know. We’ll see. It’s in early stages.”
