Alessia Cara may not be a household name just yet, but it is very unlikely that you have managed to go through the summer without hearing her proclaimed introvert-anthem, “Here”.
With just one single — albeit, one massive single — under her belt, the Brampton native has garnered a substantial amount of attention and critical acclaim. The video for her anti-party banger has over 4 million views on YouTube, and the Canadian songstress has additionally found fans in artists like Lorde, Tove Lo, and Taylor Swift.
Cara will soon have a bit more material to her name. Her debut 5-song EP ‘Four Pink Walls’ is out August 28th through Def Jam Records, and the teen plans on releasing her first full-length studio album later this fall. She just wrapped up playing festivals like Bestival Toronto and Squamish, and now Cara is playing a series one-off shows around the US before she heads across the pond to play her sold-out show in London this September.
The countdown to new Alessia Cara material is definitely on, but until then, check out her fantastic cover of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” (Kendrick verse included) below:
