CHANCE THE RAPPER HONOURS MUHAMMAD ALI @ THE ESPYS

Those present at the ESPYS Awards were graced by a moving performance by Chance the Rapper as he paid tribute to the late Muhammad Ali with an original, new song.

The 74 year old boxing legend passed away last month after a 32 – yearlong battle with Parkinson’s disease.

The performance, which featured Muhammad Ali’s touching voiceovers from previous interviews, did not fail to remind the audience of the true values held by Ali. Opening with, “When I’m all done boxing, I’m gonna do what I can to help people,” the song is introduced by his voice excitedly responding to a question explaining that the greatest thing he ever did was “get ready to meet God.”

The honesty and ingenuity with which the lyrics flowed throughout the song make this particular performance was nothing short of cathartic. Watch the full performance below.
