London based, electronic pop artist, ZAE dropped her single “Faking Love,” via The Line of Best Fit later last month. The emerging UK artist was featured in Fresh Finds on Spotify, which initially caught my attention, but it was the singer’s captivating electronic song that kept me listening to the song. The song is the perfect self-love anthem. ZAE explains, “Faking Love” is about coming to terms with who you are and learning to embrace your true self. I wanted the song to highlight the importance of breaking through traditional, right wing ‘society norms’ in order to get to a place where you feel comfortable in your own skin. To be able to love fully and openly without fear.” I’m a huge fan of this song for a few reasons, the first being the catchy combination of ZAE’s strong vocals and synth hook, mixed with the positive and meaningful lyrics, which ultimately makes for a great song.
