Toronto’s own crooner Ty Roy blesses us with his third hit in just under a month entitled “Take Me Away”. With eerie production courtesy of Lord Quan, Ty Roy send the listener off to another world with his smooth, mesmerizing vocals.

“Take Me Away” starts off with a focus on some impressive production which is sure to instill feelings of nostalgia within any listener who can identify with the 8-bit sound era. Before long, Ty Roy takes center stage with his effortless flow and croon vocals, which truly take the listener away. With the ability to switch over from R&B vocals to smooth rap seemingly at the flick of a switch, Ty Roy is showing his versatility on this one, along with confidence in his own voice.

“The song [Take Me Away] is about me not being afraid to take risks and jumping right into the unknown, while observing the ones around me that just stand and watch. They always have something to say but are afraid to get their feet wet. It’s inspired by Fiji, the one island I really want to visit more than any.” – Ty Roy

Ty Roy made his debut in August of 2016 with “Last Night” (above), complete with a visual done by Full Circle Collective, the very same group that made the “For You” visual, by Nu’s own Ellis. Over the last month, Ty Roy has also dropped two additional tracks, entitled “Exchange”, and “Gotta Go”, both offering some more relaxing vibes that “Take Me Away” delivers so well. Ty Roy’s journey to find himself and leave his mark has only just begun. Though with stylings that can only be identified as alternative R&B/Rap, listeners are starting to notice that he’s about to take the deep dive.
