At first when I saw this drop, I assumed “Scary Hours” was a track, but in fact its the name of the 2-track EP which contains “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity”.
“God’s Plan” is produced by 40, Boi-1da, Cardo, and Yung Exclusive, while “Diplomatic Immunity” features Boi-1da behind the boards with assistance from Nick Brongers. The latter track samples Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s intro on Wu-Tang Clan’s “Triumph” from their 1997 album Wu-Tang Forever. Drake previously sampled the New York hip-hop group on “Wu-Tang Forever” from his 2013 release Nothing Was the Same.
Verse 2 is my favourite on “God’s Plan”:
She say, “Do you love me?” I tell her, “Only partly”I only love my bed and my momma, I’m sorry
Yo, same. I’ve already seen this line tweeted.
Fifty dub, I even got it tatted on me81, they’ll bring the crashers to the partyAnd you know meTurn the 02 into the 03, dogWithout 40, Oli, there would be no meImagine if I never met the broski’s
Good on Drizz for always paying respect to his day one boys. Noah and Oliver have a big part to do with Drake’s success as his main producer and manager responsible for the OVO brand. It pays off to keep your crew tight.
Now on “Diplomatic Immunity,” Drake addresses his rumored relationship with Jennifer Lopez:
Waking up at 6 pm like, “Where does the day go?”Forecasting tornadosBrainstorming retaliation at dinner tables2010 was when I lost my halo2017 I lost a J. Lo
He also seems to take shots at Joe Budden (they have a history), the former host of Everyday Struggle on Complex and a rival of Drake’s:
Shit is complex like short niggas around tall ladiesI gotta watch who I’m talking to like it’s all agesI’ve seen budding careers turn to sit around and talk about other careers, judging their peersKnowledge from niggas who did not contribute to none of this here
As usual, there are many more quotables from the 6 Man but we’ll let you go enjoy them yourself without anymore spoilers.
