Madison Beer, the American singer/actress brings us a healthy serving of her steamy vocals on her debut “As She Pleases”, a seven track EP that follows the release of her featured single “Dead”, and her Fred Ball produced “Say It To My Face”. The EP coincides with the announcement of the UK, and European legs of her headlining tour.
Madison first saw major media attention back in 2012 when Justin Bieber tweeted a link to a video of her singing a cover of Etta James’ “At Last”, when she was just 13 years old. Since then, Beer has been hard at work solidifying her sound, working with talented producers, walking the catwalk for Dolce & Gabbana, and gearing up for her debut EP “As She Pleases”, which dropped earlier this month.
Co-written by Madison, the seven track EP serves as an embodiment of the teenage experience. “Teenagers in Love”, one of the standout tracks on the debut offers a peak into Beer’s soul with a love letter of sorts, over production from the talented Monsters & Strangerz, whom are best known for their work with Selena Gomez, as well as Kanye West. Songs like the Big Taste produced “Home With You” offer Beer’s simply unbeatable vocal prowess over a bouncy instrumental. While “Fools”, a personal favourite of mine combines Beer’s confident vocals, an infectious melody, and a futuristic production (especially near the end of the track), courtesy of Tim “One Love” Summers.
“As She Pleases could mean a lot of different things, to me it’s about strength, empowerment, and attitude. Its about trusting in yourself, knowing your worth, and above all else never allowing anyone or anything to break your spirit. Happiness, self love, and self empowerment. This is your life. Do as you please… I sure do. This is from my heart, soul, and mind, each song representing a different piece of me.” – Madison Beer
Madison Beer is staying busy gearing up for the UK, and European legs of her headlining tour which is starting off in Milan, Italy, on March 11th, and wrapping up in Dublin, Ireland, on March 31st. It will be Madison’s first live dates in Europe since a string of back to back London shows last summer which sold out within minutes of going on sale. This won’t be the last time we hear Madison Beer’s name, and with an offering like “As She Pleases”, we couldn’t be happier.
