Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, mega talented American Idol alumni, Tim Halperin recently dropped his new single “Tell Me What You Need,” the second single from his upcoming EP, CHANCES.
Halperin has garnered the attention of many music lovers alike via his success on the 10th season of American Idol, his debut album Rise & Fall, and appearing on tours with Jason Derulo, Kelly Clarkson, and the Fray.
Halperin is back at it again with a new pop song with a beautiful meaning behind it.
“Tell Me What You Need” is a song about caring for others. “I wrote this song with my producer, Billy Van, after a discussion about the helpless feeling of not being able to properly help someone you care about. At the time, Billy’s wife was pregnant and she was violently ill and all Billy wanted to do was make her feel better.”
“I would do anything for youBuild a castle up around youIf I could figure out how toI would fight anyone for youIf you got a bone to pick with King KongI would tell him bring it onTell me what you wantTell me what you need.”
The entire CHANCES project has strong nods to 80’s pop, and draws on Halperin’s childhood influences. He grew up hearing Michael Jackson, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, and James Taylor on his mother’s record player.
