Dylan Emmet is back and sleepless with the official video for his latest track Melatonin. Since our last post on Dylan, he recently co-wrote and produced the last two singles by LeyeT ‘Wind’ (featured on Indie Nation, C-Heads Magazine) and ‘Long Way’ (#1 on Hype Machine Popular Chart, Spotify’s New Music Friday in Italy and Turkey, Turkey viral 50) and have began releasing a single a month for his own artist project as well.
Melatonin is the 3rd and final song in this series of singles about finding my daughter after Mirage and MLJGR. It picks up after he left his LA life behind to build a relationship with his daughter, Penelope. Little did he know, the fight to be in his daughter’s life had just begun.
Dylan tells NU,
“I only saw Penelope twice in person before I found myself in court fighting to be in her life. I wasn’t able to have any contact with her for months while her mom and I figured out our issues in court. My life was in Limbo. After all of those years of hard work to end up in Los Angeles, I was back in the hometown I had so badly wanted to escape. My friends couldn’t relate at all. I’d never felt so alone. For months, It was all so painful, I just wanted to take a pill and pass out so the day could be over. I wrote Melatonin about those nights.”
“REM sleep ain’t deep enough when I’ve cried an ocean
I haven’t slept for days, I’m always in motion in my head”
NU Founder Tayo Jacob has trouble sleeping too Dylan, maybe he should try some of your melatonin.
