JSPH is back with “Good Things”. This artist is no stranger to praise from legends and well-known placements. These raw drums are filled with “drunk” wobbling subtle synth chords. His vocal blend of tenor to soprano adds nice dynamic and unpredictable melodies to weave everything together in a catchy fashion.
Here’s his first single of the year, with more smooth nostalgic yet current R&B vibes showcasing a combination of vocal ability and witty songwriting. Featured on BBC Radio1 and Pharrell’s OTHERtone, JSPH is a modern indie soul artist who KCRW’s Jason Kramer says “The critics are raving for and rightfully so.”
“Confidence” dropped early March which has more of a sunny theme going on. I feel the twangs of the guitar bring a brightness while similar funk bass undertones and raw drums still display that JSPH sound we’re familiar with. Also that vocal sample totally reminded you of “Dancing in September” let’s be real.
JSPH recently reached over 3.5 MILLION STREAMS completely independently on Spotify. Featured on Netflix’s “On My Block” series, JSPH’s song “ComeMyWay” plays on episode 3. Netflix is claiming the soundtrack (Brent Faiyaz, H.E.R, Russ) “one of the best this year” & Newsweek compares it to other musically acclaimed series, Atlanta & HBO’s Insecure.
