Swedish singer/songwriter, Elina is a name well-known in the music industry due to her incredible songwriting abilities.
Most notably being, co writing the multi-platinum 2016 single ‘Sexual’ for NEIKED, and having penned songs for Zara Larsson and Astrid S, amongst others. She even won ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2017 Swedish Publishing Awards and was nominated at the prestigious Denniz Pop Awards in 2015.
Now the artist is working on more solo projects, and recently released her fourth single “Mirage.”
A song of empowerment, she says that ‘Mirage’ is “about the aftermath of being left behind. About the struggles to get rid of the past and the memories of someone you’ve lost.”
“It takes place in the very centre of destructiveness before you’re able to move on. In the calm after the storm you start to regret that you didn’t do things differently in a relationship when you had the chance, you start to remember the good times and you become obsessed by making things right again. Even if it’s all a waste of time.”
The lyrics go,
“You see, I’m a bit unstable Twenty drinks a night to hide that I can’t stand not having you I come across as heartless Even though my heart race every time you’re close Don’t you think that (oh) It’s so obvious that I want you I go crash into the same old scenic views And just as I’m about to say the truth I lose you to somebody else”
The lyrics and her voice are so beautiful. Mirage is a must listen.
