Caly Bevier follows up last summer’s “Head Held High” with her sophomore single: “Hate U Sometimes”. You may remember Caly Bevier from her heartfelt appearance on America’s Got Talent in 2016. Then only 16-years-old, Caly Beiver impressed judge Simon Cowell enough for him to fast track her to the top of the competition. Cowell claimed he saw “big things happening for [her]”. Caly Beiver’s talent truly is something special. She is armed with an undeniably beautiful voice and an inspiring story of determination. Since signing with Primary Wave and moving from Ohio to L.A. in 2017, the courageous singer has had the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s top producers and writers crafting her first batch of original material in various studios.
“Hate U Sometimes” is a beautifully crafted R&B pop song with a heavy 90’s vibe. The whimsical intro, with its guitar and snapping, sets the tone for the track. Caly Beiver’s smooth voice tells the story of conflicting feelings experienced from a tumultuous relationship in the first verse. As the chorus comes in, “Hate U Sometimes” takes off into an explosion of emotion. We’ve all been there, in a love/hate relationship not knowing if the love is real or if the hate is lasting, but we keep trying. The second verse into the refrain of the chorus is masterful. Music without rests is like a painting without black and white, in this case, executed to perfection – symptomatic of the the creative team Caly Beiver is surrounded by.
Caly Beiver has the music industry buzzing. With her never-ending talent and the determination to fight through any obstacle in her way, it’s clear that we are all watching the growth and development of one of the industry’s next brightest stars. Stay tuned as Caly Bevier continues to prove that she truly is… something special.
