Few bands launch as explosively as Flawes. Bolting from the blocks straight on to radio within a mere three months of forming. The reaction to their initial releases was instant. BBC Introducing played lead track ‘Don’t Wait For Me’ and, to Flawes’ astonishment, it was made Record of the Week on Radio 1, reached No.8 on Spotify’s viral chart and was chosen to soundtrack trailers for the hit US TV series Lie To Me. The next two years was a blur of shows, songwriting, airports and festival appearances.
Flawes consists of Josh Carruthers – Vocals & Keys, Freddie Edwards – Guitar and Josh Hussey – Drums. The three of them have an undeniable chemistry and way to glue their sounds and talents into one cohesive, unique genre.
Fickle Friends have added their tropical spin to Flawes’ latest single ‘Here To Stay’ with a remix, released via Red Bull Records. Mutual fans of one another, the two bands met via their producer and have been looking for an opportunity to collaborate since.
Already an example of blissed-out pop at it’s finest, ‘Here To Stay’ saw Flawes take on an even bolder, sleeker and defiantly uplifting sound than ever before. Fickle Friends have added their unique sound to the mix, transforming the song into an infectious, pumping tropical bop.
We’re big fans of Fickle Friends, so it’s awesome that we’ve been able to collaborate on our track! The process worked really smoothly and we’re all super happy with the twist they’ve put on the song””
‘Here To Stay’ followed the Huddersfield and London boys’ previous tracks this year ‘Don’t Count Me Out’, ‘When We Were Young’ and ‘Look No Further’ all of which have been gathering critical acclaim from around the world since their release. This comes after their self-imposed 18 months out of the limelight to immerse themselves in writing and recording to nail to sound they wished to define them.
