Payson Lewis has released an anthemic new single called “Nothing To You”, and it’s really good! Payson has had a diverse career, singing with national orchestras, starring in theatrical performances, acting on TV shows, and now it seems his talent has been channelled into making catchy pop music.
Lewis wrote the song with Brooke Jenkins on the subject of love gone wrong, a “love where the only option was to get out before it was too late. Before there was nothing of myself left”, explains Payson.
Lewis’ voice on is this track is clean, clear, strong, and direct, underscored by echoey guitar patterns. Funky guitars play a prominent role in the instrumental, performed masterfully by Adam Tressler. The production, by Ben Soldate, is hard-hitting but subtle, bombastic but minimal. It’s a good jam, check it out.
