Brooklyn based artist Chloe Lilac began her career sneaking out at age 13 to perform on the streets. Now in 2020, she’s making waves, playing SXSW, touring around, releasing music, and getting streams. She’s got a second album coming out soon, and here’s her new single from it. This song’s called ‘Obvious’.
‘Obvious’ is a groovy and well produced pop track. It features elements of trap/R&B, jiving piano, choppy synth pads, and various hazy layers. It’s a great slow jam, and Chloe’s voice sits smooth and silky on top of it. In terms of the lyrical meaning, Chloe explains: “‘Obvious’ is about being with someone that clearly doesn’t like you as much as you like them, being in denial about it and then realizing you’re better than that bullshit.”
Chloe Lilac has found her way on lots of ‘artists to watch’ lists for a reason, so, I guess, start watching!
