Myles Castello is a rising R&B singer from Scarborough, whose moody yet danceable cadence of club-friendly music is quickly garnering attention. His eye towards weaving stories from his own experience, marred by catchy, danceable melodies and a highly-executed calibre of pop combine together in Myles Castello who is making his mark this year.
Having just wrapped up his Castello Quarantine Live (a 10-city virtual North American tour live streaming from the instagram account of each venue), Myles is now sharing a new single. “Blue” was inspired after hurting someone he loved, causing them to leave and leaving him feeling like something was missing. The whole idea is that when one thing that brightens up your day is gone, everything else around you feels a little more dull.
The production has gritty bass slides, spaced out and contrasted with peaceful lo-fi type guitar riffs. His staccato-y unique melodies with glistening falsettos paint a picture of how much blue Myles is seeing.
